Dividend income November 2024

I broke the 500k accumulated dividends milestone in November. It has taken me almost 10 years to reach this point. It feels like I didn't start investing that long ago, but it's already been close to 10 years. Time really does fly. I doubt the next 500k will take another 10 years, should be more close to 4 years. Interest on interest really is the 8th wonder of the world.

Trump won the election and markets rallied after that, especially in the US. He was good for the US economy last time he was elected so I believe people think he will be it again. He's said some really unhinged stuff during his campaign but I don't think he will do some of the stuff he's been talking about.

Another month I haven't beaten the record for dividends, again. I'll have to wait until February for that to happen I think. The portfolio is doing great and is ATH still. I hope next year will bring some fine dividend increases for some of the companies I have. I believe Opter will be one of those that I will see one of the largest increases for.

I received a total of SEK 5,574.12 in dividends in November. An increase of 17.0% compared to last year.

Reinvested dividends effect on yearly dividend: SEK 207.78

New buy Sveafastigheter (IPO)

Haven't bought a single new company since July last year and then all of a sudden three new ones in October this year. Strange times. I will probably invest into some new companies soon with a bit bigger investments.

Sveafastigheter is a spin-off from SBB. SBB is one of the worse investments I've done. I just wanted to use the fact that I would be able to buy the spin-off at a lower price. Who knows,  maybe one day both these companies will start to payout dividends. Time will tell. It's a very small investment so won't make or break the portfolio.

Number of shares bought: 130
Price: SEK 39.50

Effect on yearly dividend: +SEK 0.00

New buy Ramlösa Shipping (IPO)

First time I take part in an IPO. I was lured in by one of the podcasts that I listen to and signed up. Then after I got my shares another podcast trash talked the IPO. Lets just say the first trading day wasn't great with a decline of 20%. I've learned my lesson to look a bit closer at IPO's going forward. However I do think this company could become a nice dividend payer, I am however not sure how much they will pay so the effect as of yet is 0. It was just a small position so no harm done overall.

Shipping stocks are notorious for their volatile dividends so I doubt Ramlösa Shipping will be any different.

Number of shares bought: 500
Price: SEK 30.51

Effect on yearly dividend: +SEK 0.00

New buy FDJ

I don't sell companies unless they get bought out buy another company. And my strategy for when that happens I invest the proceeds from the bought out company to the company that did the buying, if it's listed. This strategy would've served me well if I had used it on ActivisionBlizzard and invested in Microsoft, as well as Swedish Match into Philip Morris. In those two cases I was too afraid to reinvest as the USD was so strong. In hindsigth it would've been great investments. You learn by your mistakes.

So Kindred was bought out by the company FDJ (La Francaise Des Jeux S.A.). This is my first time investing in a French company. I don't really know much about them, other that they are a betting company. They pay a nice dividend and have had nice dividend growth over the past couple of years. One drawback is the high withholding tax in France, but I should receive all of that back the following year.

Number of shares bought: 90
Price: EUR 35.82

Effect on yearly dividend: +SEK 1,321.65

Dividend income October 2024

I'm getting closer and closer to the 500k accumulated dividends milestone. I broke to 100k milestone for this year now in October and I will break the 500k in November. Sadly this October was not a record for dividends. Firstly Telia shifted the payout of their dividend from October to November this year. Also I didn't receive any dividend from Kindred this year as they have been bought by French company FDJ. I invested the money from Kindred into FDJ, more on that in a separate buy post.

It was a good month portfolio-wise. I'm at ATH, mostly due to Nvidia still going strong. I broke the 6M mark for my portfolio this month as well. It feels like it goes faster and faster, no wonder when the portfolio gets bigger and bigger. First million took almost 2 years. 2nd million took another 3 years. Then it accelarated, 3rd million took 1 year. 4th another 1.5 years. Fifth took 10 months, and the 6th took 7 months. I doubt I will be able to keep up this pace, but it's very nice if it can continue like this.

I've bought some new companies this month, FDJ, IPO in Ramlösa Shipping and IPO Sveafastigheter.

I received a total of SEK 5,195.04 in dividends in October. An decrease of -13.4% compared to last year.

Reinvested dividends effect on yearly dividend: SEK 157.51

New buy effect on yearly dividend: SEK 1,321.65 (technically since I took the proceeds from Kindred sale the net effect is not that high at all, however Kindred didn't pay any dividends this year).

Dividend income September 2024

Back on track with a new dividend record month. FED cut rates a bit more than expected it seems but the markets taking it with ease. The conflicts around the world seem to be escalating and China is stimulating. Gold companies might be best bet going forward. Also oil could be a nice place.

I am very close to breaking the 500k accumulated dividends received! It should happen in November according to my calculations.

I haven't bought much new stock lately but I have my eye on a new company that I will hopefully invest in shortly.

I received a total of SEK 7,276.31 in dividends in September. An increase of 3.4% compared to last year.

Dividend income August 2024

I see I missed posting dividend update for August. Sadly it wasn't a new record for the month.

I received a total of SEK 2,093.96 in dividends in August. An decrease of -29.5% compared to last year. Not great, but there was some dividends I received last year that I didn't this year.

Dividend income July 2024

A bit late with the EOM report for August due to vacation and life in general. July saw some major shifts in sentiment, AI crashed and I had some of the worst days PnL wise ever. When writing this most of the downturn in August has reversed, however USDSEK has taken quite a hit so it's not been the usual comeback.

The Riksbank lowered rates again and the FED is now signaling the first rate cut in September. It seems like usually when the FED starts cutting it's already too late or they are too slow. I've been thinking about the next Black Swan event and I feel like it could be in the ESG sector. A lot of the projects there are starting to be postponed or withdrawn as many of the completed projects have become disasters and money losing machines. I doubt Northvolt will survive long term, and I believe there are many other projects like it around the world that also will not make it.

Dividend wise it was a record month again, the setback from June was only temporary. Unfortunately it probably is only a one time thing as it was the dividend from SBB for last year and what I believe an extra dividend from Danske Bank. So next year will probably not have those included.

I received a total of SEK 6,300.61 in dividends in July. An increase of 58.2% compared to last year. A nice rebound from last month.

Dividend income June 2024

My portfolio is again at an ATH. In regards to dividends June this year was a lot lower than last year. A big reason for this was Yara cut their dividend a lot. Also Boliden and Thomson Reuters didn't pay out any extra dividends this year. Going forward for the year I feel like Nvidia could be overhyped and can drop a lot. Time will tell how long the AI hype will last, and what companies come out on top.

I received a total of SEK 7,279.87 in dividends in June. A decrease of 53.4% compared to last year. Ouch!
