Dividend income April 2022

Another record month for dividends. Not so much for my portfolio. Nvidia had a rough month, almost down a hundred dollars, which due to it size brings down my performance a lot. Luckily the USD/SEK rate has been going up, even though the Riksbank did it's first hike since 2019.

The reports have been a mix of ups and downs for me. I don't have much exposure to the big tech so I've been spared from their draw downs, except Nvidia. I think it looks good for most smaller businesses but that might change in the coming quarter reports.

Anyway back to the dividends. Broke two records this month, largest single dividend received and most dividends received in a month as well.

I received a total of SEK 16,074.86 in dividends in April. An increase of 75%.

Reinvesting Evolution dividend (1)

I didn't think I'd be able to buy a new stock in Evolution for the dividend I received but the stock has roughly lost a third of it's price in a year. I round up to a new stock if the dividend covers more than 0.75 of the price. The betting and gambling sector in general has been in a bad trend this year, Kindred and Kambi are also down a lot this year. Let's hope it will turn around soon.

On a separate note there's been a few nice dividend increases from several companies, Kinder Morgan increased their's with 2.7% and JNJ with over 6%.

Reinvesting Husqvarna dividend (5)

Husqvarna has taken a beating lately due to their lowered earnings. Positive thing about that is that I can buy more when reinvesting. I don't really understand why they payout SEK 1 in the spring and SEK 2 in autumn, why don't they just split it evenly?

Stocks owned: 373

Reinvesting Telia dividend (7)

Telia always seems to go up in price before the dividend payout for some reason, maybe it's because a lot of people are reinvesting their dividends. I'm no different, but it means I can't buy as many stocks.

Stocks owned: 931
Dividend per stock: SEK 1.00

Reinvesting NCC dividend (5)

NCC has become cheap or my dividend has increased, or both, so that I was able to buy two new stocks this time.

Stocks owned: 84
Dividend per stock: SEK 3.00
Dividend received: SEK 252.00
Reinvested number of stocks: 2 (SEK 124.20 x 2 = SEK 248.40).

New buy Swedish Match

Maybe I'm buying Swedish Match at the top, but the stock has been going higher for many years. I also don't think that people will stop to use their products, and they are also able to increase prices to ward of inflation in my opinion. Another tobacco company, but as I've said before I don't have any moral thoughts about investing in them.

They are also a steady dividend grower so I think it will be a nice addition to my portfolio.

I'm actually starting to run out of Swedish companies that I have on my watch list so I will probably focus more on US companies for a while now. The dividend season is also comming to an end more or less next month in Sweden so there won't be that many companies to buy to still be able to get a dividend this year.

Reinvesting Bonava dividend (4)

Bonava has come down a lot in price, the dividend yield is over 6% at this point. It might be a good time to increase my position. I'm not sure what's been driving it lower. One part is the rising rates and another their Russian business.

Reinvesting SCA dividend (2)

I really should increase my holdings in SCA. The stock has been great since I bought it, but my position is very small. It feels like forresting companies in Sweden have had really strong years the last years, and I don't think that will change. With inflation I think the price for wood will only increase.

Reinvesting Avanza dividend (4)

The dividend I received from Avanza this year is the single largest dividend I have ever received. By a far margin. Though Avanza has come down quite a bit from it's highs from last year I still think they have potential to grow. However I do think that the Swedish market is probably close to it's max at the moment and that the growth they should aim for is to expand to the other nordic countries. Hopefully they will keep this dividend amount for the coming years as well.

Reinvesting Holmen dividend (3)

Holmen has been on a run this year. I think they might do a split again soon in the stock as the price has gone up quite a lot. At least I am hoping for a split.

Reinvesting SBB dividend (1)

Didn't take long until I got a dividend to reinvest from SBB. Also SBB has now declared the monthly dividend to be SEK 0.11. Hopefully they will become a Swedish dividend champion with a steady dividend growth. There's been a lot of turbulence in SBB recent week, there's been a lot of shorts on the company and it's come down a bit in price. I can't say if they will face severe problems with the raising of rates but I think they will keep growing.

Dividend income March 2022

Another turbulent month in the market but we have taken back a lot of ground from the lows. Ukraine war is still ongoing but there seems to be some foward movement in the peace negotiations. I don't believe Russia can keep this up for too long, it's too costly for them.

For me it has been another record month. I was not sure it would be as I was expecting the dividend from ABB to be paid out in April, but I received it last day of March instead. The dividend reinvestment season has started again for me for Swedish companies and there will be quite many of them next month. It also looks like I broke the record of most number of dividends received in one month: 22.

I received a total of SEK 10,253.29 in dividends in March. An increase of 47%.

Reinvesting Axfood dividend (5)

Axfood has been on a bull run this year. Some part of it is probably due to inflation and higher food prices. This means I am no longer able to buy 5 new stocks when reinvesting. With the downturn in the market overall this year I was expecting to be able to buy more stocks when reinvesting this year, but so far that has not been the case.

Reinvesting AstraZeneca dividend (5)

The Swedish dividend season has started for me and with it the first Swedish reinvestment. AstraZeneca has been a good hedge this year. It usually performs very well in turbulent and down markets from what I've experienced. The "problem" for me now is that the price has gone up so much so I'm not able to fully cover two stocks for the spring dividend, but I still bought two this year. My cutoff for an extra stocks goes at 0.75 so I think I was over that at least for the second stock, but for the dividend this fall I'm not so sure. In that case I will still buy one.
