Reinvesting KMI dividend (8)

Reinvesting dividend in KMI. I bought 4 new stocks even though I technically didn't reach the 0.75 breaking point. I just like the stock :). Hopefully they will announce a dividend increase for the next dividend in May. I'm thinking a small one, last year was 2.7% so maybe we get somewhere around there and a new dividend per stock at 0.2825. We will see.

Reinvesting SBB dividend (11)

Reinvesting SBB dividend. With hindsight it's a bit sad that I didn't buy stocks when it was at price 10. The higher and higher price means I can buy fewer new stocks each month. The report is coming out soon so we will have to see what will happen to their dividend.

Dividend income January 2023

It has been a great month both in terms of dividends and for the portfolio as a whole in January. The stock market is up by more than 10%, and I got a feeling that this can't last for long seeing as how the economy is looking. Everyone seems to be pricing in a soft landing and easing of central banks later this year as inflation falls. They also seem to be thinking that when the recession hits central banks will have to start QE. I don't think we will see rates as low as they were the last decade, even if it's a recession. Also if you think there'll be a recession and easing shouldn't valuations come down as companies will struggle?

The reports for a lot of companies have come in already and it's a big mix, unfortunately we are seeing a lot of them cutting their dividends. So far I've had four companies cut theirs. Luckily none of them are too big so the hit isn't as bad as 2020. And also some companies have raised their dividends and also pay out bonus dividends to offset the cuts. So it's a very odd mix. I do think that it's the consumer businesses that are getting hit first, also builders. But next in line will probably be B2B companies as we see a slowdown overall.

The dividends received in January are very skewed due to the bonus dividend from VW, I doubt I will see this level of payout for a couple of years at least, unless I invest heavily into companies paying dividends in January, anyone have any good suggestions?

I received a total of SEK 6,720.06 in dividends in January. An increase of 511% compared to last year.
