Dividend income December 2024

2024 was my best year for a lot of things. I broke dividend records, reached new milestones, portfolio at an ATH. Looking back to last year, I thought Nvidia wouldn't have such good year as it did. It is by far the largest holding in my portfolio. Also they increased their dividend significantly this year. Hopefully we'll see a similar increase next year. Another one of my better stocks was Opter, increasing almost 100%. I still believe strongly in this company. They show a nice and steady growth every single quarter. I think their dividend for next year will be increased by a lot as well, and it wouldn't surprise me that one day Opter will be one of my biggest dividend payments each year.

My portfolio returned nearly 40% this year, which is really good. It feels too good, and I fear we will see a correction once the AI hype slowly dies out. The question is who the winners and losers will be, just like the dot com bubble.

In regards to dividends, I broke several records this year. I broke the record for total amount of dividends in a year, total amount of dividends received in a single month. Largest single dividend payment. I broke the 500k milestone and I broke the dividend record for seven out of twelve months. I did not reach my goal of 125k in dividends received, mostly due to cut dividends and lowered dividends for some companies. I do however think 2025 could be a good dividend year. It looks like some companies that cut their dividends in 2022 are going to start paying again in 2025.

For 2025 I will actually aim for 130k in dividends. Even though I didn't reach my goal of 125k last year I don't want to set the same goal again this year and then beat it. I'm almost tempted to go for 150k, but I fear that will be a bit too steep. With the 6% dividend increase per year I use I end up with 119k and then another 12k from new investments. I guess I might have to take last years reinvested dividends into account as well, I'll see later how much that is. I'm planning on boosting my holdings in Realty Income to be able to reinvest one new share each month from the dividend. This also helps me boost some of my worse months like February, July and August. You know what I will aim for 150k in dividends 2025, no one remembers a coward. It might depend a lot on the USDSEK rate however. I believe I will have some nice dividend increases for some companies next year and also some that will start to pay again. I fear Handelsbanken won't pay as much as last year, so that will make a dent in the total dividends received as it was by far the largest dividend I've ever received.

For December I broke the monthly record again after two months of not breaking it. I don't think I will break the record for January though.

I received a total of SEK 6,228.75 in dividends in December. An increase of 40.4% compared to last year, mostly due to the extra dividend paid out by Danske Bank.

For the full year I received 177 dividends totalling SEK 113,726.57 an increase of 6.0% compared to 2023. Not as good as I was hoping for.

Reinvested dividends effect on yearly dividend for December: SEK 78.00 and for the whole of 2024 the reinvested dividend yearly effect is SEK 3,437.98. A small increase compared to 2023.

New buy Envar (IPO)

A lot of IPO's lately. I will be buying some new stocks in 2025, and increase investment in some others. I am not sure if I should continue my path down the investing in stocks that don't pay dividends. I got more stocks in this IPO than the one for Apotea.
Why am I investing in Envar? I think it sounds like an interesting company. They do work for larger gaming studios that outsource some of their work to Envar. I think that this is what could happen in the future, that different parts of a supply chain for creating games are done by different companies. In the end it's the gaming company that puts everything together, as car company, but different suppliers do different parts of the game (car).
I'm not sure if Envar will pay any dividend, but I think they have the capacity to do so.

New buy Apotea (IPO)

I signed up for Apotea IPO for 800 stocks but only got 20. It felt like it was certain that the IPO would be good and it was, the stock rose by 40% or so on the first day of trading. Hopefully Apotea will give a dividend, but I think they stated in their IPO documentation that they won't be paying out dividends.

Dividend income November 2024

I broke the 500k accumulated dividends milestone in November. It has taken me almost 10 years to reach this point. It feels like I didn't start investing that long ago, but it's already been close to 10 years. Time really does fly. I doubt the next 500k will take another 10 years, should be more close to 4 years. Interest on interest really is the 8th wonder of the world.

Trump won the election and markets rallied after that, especially in the US. He was good for the US economy last time he was elected so I believe people think he will be it again. He's said some really unhinged stuff during his campaign but I don't think he will do some of the stuff he's been talking about.

Another month I haven't beaten the record for dividends, again. I'll have to wait until February for that to happen I think. The portfolio is doing great and is ATH still. I hope next year will bring some fine dividend increases for some of the companies I have. I believe Opter will be one of those that I will see one of the largest increases for.

I received a total of SEK 5,574.12 in dividends in November. An increase of 17.0% compared to last year.

Reinvested dividends effect on yearly dividend: SEK 207.78

New buy Sveafastigheter (IPO)

Haven't bought a single new company since July last year and then all of a sudden three new ones in October this year. Strange times. I will probably invest into some new companies soon with a bit bigger investments.

Sveafastigheter is a spin-off from SBB. SBB is one of the worse investments I've done. I just wanted to use the fact that I would be able to buy the spin-off at a lower price. Who knows,  maybe one day both these companies will start to payout dividends. Time will tell. It's a very small investment so won't make or break the portfolio.

New buy Ramlösa Shipping (IPO)

First time I take part in an IPO. I was lured in by one of the podcasts that I listen to and signed up. Then after I got my shares another podcast trash talked the IPO. Lets just say the first trading day wasn't great with a decline of 20%. I've learned my lesson to look a bit closer at IPO's going forward. However I do think this company could become a nice dividend payer, I am however not sure how much they will pay so the effect as of yet is 0. It was just a small position so no harm done overall.

Shipping stocks are notorious for their volatile dividends so I doubt Ramlösa Shipping will be any different.

New buy FDJ

I don't sell companies unless they get bought out buy another company. And my strategy for when that happens I invest the proceeds from the bought out company to the company that did the buying, if it's listed. This strategy would've served me well if I had used it on ActivisionBlizzard and invested in Microsoft, as well as Swedish Match into Philip Morris. In those two cases I was too afraid to reinvest as the USD was so strong. In hindsigth it would've been great investments. You learn by your mistakes.

So Kindred was bought out by the company FDJ (La Francaise Des Jeux S.A.). This is my first time investing in a French company. I don't really know much about them, other that they are a betting company. They pay a nice dividend and have had nice dividend growth over the past couple of years. One drawback is the high withholding tax in France, but I should receive all of that back the following year.
